Karachi- Pakistan People's Party (PPP) patron-in-chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said today that his party will not tolerate any compromise over the freedom of expression (FoE). He added that it would stand steadfast with the journalist community in case of any attack. In a statement issued on the World Press Freedom Day, Bilawal Bhutto recalled that PPP and the journalist community together had faced the military rule which restricted the freedom of expression in the last four decades. He said that the free media has played a key role in strengthening democracy and upholding the constitution. Bhutto added that PPP has always condemned any maltreatment to journalists. He said that the Kalashnikov culture of General Zia era was still haunting every peaceful segment of the society.
