Four injured as robbers loot bank



GUJRANWALA - Four armed robbers looted Rs0.4 million after shooting four persons including Assistant Manager and a guard during a heist at UBL College Road branch here on Friday morning. The robbers fled away after snatching bikes from outside the bank.
Reportedly, four armed robbers stormed into UBL College Road branch in the morning and attempted to make the staff hostage. However, Assistant Manager Shoaib and Guard Fazil offered resistance at which the robbers fired indiscriminate gunshots. Resultantly, the Assistant Manager, guard, peon Tahir and a client Ijaz sustained bullet injuries while robbers made their escape after snatching cash from the counter which was later counted as Rs0.4 million. It has been learnt that two of the robbers disappeared in adjacent interior city streets while the others snatched a motorbike from the road and fled away. The police reached the spot and started investigation.
