MIRANSHAH - At least 23 mortar shells fired from Afghanistan landed in North Waziristan on Thursday. According to reports, the mortar shells landed in the Ghulam Khan and Bagi Dar areas of North Waziristan. No loss of life was reported due to the targeted areas being uninhabited. Last week, six mortar shells fired from Afghanistan fell into North Waziristan’s Ghulam Khan area, with no loss of life or property. North Waziristan is one of Pakistan’s tribal areas along the border with Afghanistan. Pakistan and Afghanistan regularly trade allegations of cross-border shelling from both the sides of the border.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
