Jirga urges Afghan government to stop cross border attacks

BAJAUR- A Jirga of Bajur Agency elders, today, demanded Afghan government to stop cross border attacks into Pakistan territory.

Jirga meeting of Mamond tribe was held in Bajaur Agency which condemned attacks on Pakistan security posts by militants come from Afghanistan.

The Jiraga also showed solidarity with Pakistan army and demanded Kabul government to control militants on its soil and stop cross border attacks into Pakistan territory.

The elders of Jirga vowed to protect every inch of motherland and announced to take action against militants who come from other side of the border by their Amman Lashkars (Peace Force).

The Jirga also vowed not to provide shelter to any local and foreigner militant group.

Tension between Islamabad and Kabul increased after one Frontier Corps (FC) soldier has been killed in a cross border attack at Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Mamond Tehsil of Bajaur Agency on last Friday.

This is the second incident of cross border attacks in the last few days. However, this information could not be independently verified as the access of media is severely restricted in the region.
Pakistan has repeatedly asked Afghan authorities not to provide shelter to militants fleeing from North Waziristan tribal region and to destroy militant hideouts on its territory at a time when the country was undertaking a monumental effort against terrorists and their hideouts through the launch of operation Zarb-e-Azb.
