Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif today said the armed forces of Pakistan are fully prepared, to respond to the entire spectrum of threat.
Addressing a Corps Commander's conference at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Gen. Sharif expressed complete satisfaction over noticeable change in the overall security situation of the country.
Referring to the ongoing peace talks between Afghan government and Afghan Taliban, the army chief said it is the only credible way to achieve lasting peace. He said, detractors and spoilers are against peace and prosperity of Afghanistan and the entire region. During the meeting, participants dwelt at length on internal and external security situation in the country. Progress of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and ongoing Intelligence Based Operations in the country were also reviewed.
The forum reviewed the state of readiness and vigil being maintained by troops along the Line of Control (LoC).
