MULTAN- The CIA Police claimed to have captured three gangsters, who have been allegedly involved in the killing of a traffic warden. The arrested accused are identified as ringleader Iftikhar Shah, Nadeem Shah and Qaisar Abbas. One gangster namely Amir Waseem was killed in shootout on the day of incident while another Allah Bakhsh was arrested. The gangsters looted a house on October 30 last and tried to escape but the jawans of Mohafiz Squad chased them. In the meantime, a traffic warden Muhammad Shahbaz also tried to stop them near Sabzi Mandi but they shot him. He embraced martyrdom. The CPO formed a special team headed by the CIA SP Ch Maqbool Ahmad that traced the accused and arrested them. The accused are being quizzed by a team. Meanwhile, the district police have arrested 27 accused including five proclaimed offenders and recovered illicit arms, liquor and other articles from their possession during a crackdown. The arrested proclaimed offenders were identified as Muhammad Jafar, Nasir Hussain, M Sajjad, Zafar Hussain and Malik Aftab. Police also arrested Attequr Rehman, M Safdar, Iftikhar Hussain, Qaisar Abbas, Nadem Shah, Waseem and Ghulam Hussain in possession of illicit arms.
As many as four pistols, two rifles, one pump action and 37 bullets were recovered. Police also arrested eight gamblers, three butchers with not-fit-for-human health meat and one illegal petrol seller.
