Two miners die in explosion

SARGODHA - An explosion in a mine claimed two labourers’ lives in village 120/NB here on Friday.
Workers Sajid of Chak-48/SB and Arshad of Chak-126/SB were busy in their usual work. The workers placed explosive material to break the stones at Shaheenabad mountain in the limits of Sillanwali police, but when the explosives went off, a huge stone coming from the top of the hill hit both of them and they died instantly.
A police mobile from the Sillanwali police station rushed to the spot and took out the dead bodies from the rubble.
Later, other labourers stopped their work and observed protest against the incident. Because of unavailability of proper security arrangements and alleged leniency of the local authorities of Mines and Labour Welfare Department, numerous workers have lost their lives so far.
APPOINTMENT: The Punjab government has appointed Tehsil Municipal Administration of Sargodha Additional Collector and Administrator Benish Fatima as Deputy Secretary Higher Education and Nazar Abbas from Chiniot has been appointed as Additional Collector and TMA Administrator.
