SIALKOT - Two more persons have lost their lives while bathing and picnicking in Upper Chenab Canal near Sambrial here as ban on bathing and swimming in rivers, canals and water channels is being violated in Sialkot district.
On Saturday evening, Sambrial-based Tehseen and Shahid drowned in UCC canal near Sambrial while bathing. Their dead bodies have not yet been found, as the search was on by the rescuer. In May 2012, five persons drowned in River Chenab near Head Marala. Daily a large number of people including women and children throng the banks of river to beat the heat and for picnicking.
They also take bath in the waters. Several government officials from Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat and Gujranwala districts were also present there with their families.
