Samina’s return after surmounting Everest

Samina Baig, who along with her brother managed to scale down world's tallest peak Mount Everest, arrived at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad from Katmandu on Monday.  Talking to the reporters, Samina said: “We have created history for Pakistan without any support from the government. All was done with the active cooperation of my family members who supported us whole-heartedly.”  She said it took them 50 days to reach the summit and all those moments could not be expressed in words. Her family members along with sports lovers were present at the airport and received her warmly. Upon her arrival Samina was received by CAA sports in-charge Obaidur Rehman Abbasi along with other staff members and took Samina and her brother to VIP lounge.  Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah and members of Alpine Club were also present on the occasion. She urged the government to help GB females as they could achieve further goals in the field of mountaineering.–Staff Reporter
