Hafizabad hospitals lack gynaecologists

HAFIZABAD
The Housewives Association has called upon the Punjab health minister to immediately appoint lady medical officers and gynecologists at DHQ Hospital Hafizabad and other hospitals in the district.
They expressed concerns over the apathetic attitude of the government for not appointing even a single gynecologist or female medical officer in the whole district as the patients were facing lots of hardships and inconvenience.
According to official sources, 26 posts of WMO and gynecologists have been lying vacant since long and there is not even a single such doctor across the district hospitals. They added that the gynecological patients were experiencing a great ordeal as they have to consult with private gynecologists by paying heavy charges.
The association pointed out that the state minister for health services and regulation belongd to Hafizabad but she had also failed to resolve the problems of even female patients.
VILLAGER ELECTROCUTED: A 20-year-old villager received fetal electric shocks and died in the hospital due to serious burns. The police have registered a case against Line Superintendent Tahir and Qaiser, an employee of Grid Station Hafizabad, for their negligence.
According to Allah Ditta, the father of 20-year-old Bilal of Kolo Tarar, the line superintendent had hired the services of his son to rectify defects by climbing up a power pylon in Vanike Tarar area. As soon as the victim climbed up the pylon, he added, the power supply was switched on. As a result, Bilal received fetal burns and fell down therefrom. He was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to the burns.
