Three cops shot dead

KARACHI - Three cops were killed in a targeted attack on a police post at Super Highway within the remits of the Sohrab Goth police station.
Police official said that the incident took place at Super Highway, where the victims, including Sub-inspector of Motorway Police, Shamim, Head Constable of Sacchal police station Mohsin Khan and constable Allah Baksh were performing their duties when some unidentified armed riders came and opened fire on them.
They were shifted to hospital where doctors pronounced their deaths. Police said that the motive behind the incident had yet to be ascertained. Further investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, the unwanted newborn that was dropped in the Chhipa Palna (Cradle) has fully recovered, says a statement of the Chhipa Welfare Association (CWA) here on Sunday.
It said that the CWA had shifted the newborn to a healthcare facility for medical help. Doctor confirmed that the newborn was in perfect health and could be discharged immediately.
The situation had led to search for an appropriate married couple that failed to produce a child from their marriage and were looking for a child to adopt it.
In this regard, the CWA patron-in-chief Ramzan Chhipa appealed to the couple that could not have a child from their marriage to immediately contact the Chhipa Welfare Association for adopting the child.
They could call Chhipa helpline number 1020 and submit their applications at Chhipa Welfare Association headquarters located opposite to FTC building on Sharea Faisal here so that the child could get the affection of parents.
