Dissent crops up in PPP, AJK

MIRPUR (AJK)
Dozens of senior leaders and activists of AJK's incumbent ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP-AJK) have announced resignation from their respective offices of the party in protest against, what they described, the indifferent attitude and anti-worker policies of the sitting AJK Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed.
In a joint press statement issued here on Monday, the dissident party activists accused Ch Majeed-led coalition government of ignoring sincere and ideological party workers without accounting for their supreme sacrifices for the party.
The PPP AJK leaders and workers who resigned from their respective offices included members of the party's central executive committee Khurram Pasha and Sikander Javed Bukhari, Senior Vice Presidet Nasir Khan Jiraal, Secretary Information Shahid Mehmood Rathore, Vice Presidents Iftikhar Ahmed Raja and Habib Kousar, Deputy Secretary Khawaja Muhammad Ramzan, Secretary General New City unit Ch Muhammad Ramzan, Allah Ditta Arayeen, Unit Secretary General Sangote, Zubair Ahmed Jiraal, former PSF chief organiser Shoaib Qureshi and central leader Shafique Shah.
Lashing out at the AJK PM-led government, the dissident jiyalas continued that ideological party workers had been constantly raising hue and cry against the injustice meted out to them at the hands of the hands of members of the sitting PPP government in AJK. "The vested interests have encircled the ruling elite and have blocked their voice to reach Premier Ch Majeed," they regretted, adding that Ch Majeed never bother to heed the grievances of sincere workers who were the real asset to the party.
They charged that due rights of the ideological party workers from Mirpur were always robbed and those hailing from other districts were accommodated against discretionary posts.
They informed that they had sent resignations to the central secretary general of the party. The dissidents also announced forming a committee under the supervision of Khurram Pasha to devise future course of action. They said that they would launch a campaign for establishing liaison with the like-minded party activists in the district besides other parts of AJK.
