Mianwali- The Chashma Nuclear Power Plant-I (CHASNUPP-I) has been shut down for annual repair.
According to reports, the yearly closure of the nuclear power plant will entail a shortfall of over 325 Megawatts to the national grid. According to the sources of National Transmission & Despatch Company (NTDC) Limited, the plant has been closed down as per schedule, which will exacerbate the already worse power crisis. The demand of electricity currently stands at 14500MWs as against production of 11,000MWs.
