Islamabad: PML-N has filed a reply in Judicial Commission (JC) probing into alleged rigging in general elections and rejected categorically the allegations of organized rigging leveled by PTI and PPP.
Political parties – which claimed election rigging – were asked by the General Elections 2013 Inquiry Commission, investigating the vote fraud allegations, to fill out a questionnaire asking the parties if the polls were ‘systematically’ rigged and, if so, to identify the perpetrators.
In its reply filed today, PML-N said that as PTI had leveled rigging allegations therefore, PTI itself will have to prove them and provide evidence.
The reply further said that PML-N had won 129 seats and a whopping difference is there with reference to votes bagged by both the parties, therefore, it stands ruled out that any organized rigging was committed.
PML-N opposed the demand made by PPP for reopening of voting bags saying rigging cannot be proved through such steps. “We have already said that elections were held in fair and transparent manner and whosoever entertains suspicion to the effect that rigging has been done should present all evidences.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) presented a list of 65 constituencies before a judicial commission that should be probed for alleged rigging in 2013 general elections.
In a reply submitted to the commission, PPP said concerned authorities should have no objection to recounting votes if they believe elections were not rigged.
PPP had earlier said it will not submit any rigging evidence and will solely rely upon the evidences to be presented by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Muhajir Qaumi Movement has presented a list of 6 witnesses in JC and has requested the commission to summon these witnesses and cross examine them.
In the reply and list filed on Monday, Muhajir Qaumi Movement has said MQM is involved in organized rigging and 6 persons including former secretary to election commission be summoned and reply be sought from them.
