Woman among three alleged terrorists killed in Haripur

KHANPUR:  Woman among three alleged terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with police and intelligence agencies, while one security person was killed and two others injured. Those killed belonged to a banned organization.

Acting on a tip off, police and intelligence agencies conducted a joint raid on a house in Pind Ghakhara of Haripur. Militants opened fire on the security forces and compromised their cover. Retaliating to the fire, police gunned down three alleged terrorists including a woman.

Two personnel who were injured in the encounter were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ). One of the troops was killed in the action. The security forces launched a search operation in the area after the combat.

Earlier this week, unidentified miscreants hurled a grenade on a mosque in Tehkal Bala area in Peshawar injuring at least 18 persons.

Police have arrested one of the attackers who was injured when the locals opened fire to retaliate. Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured persons to nearby hospital.
