Five sent to gallows in 3 prisons

Five murder convicts were sent to the gallows in three Punjab prisons early Tuesday morning.
In Sahiwal, murder convict Imtiaz Hussain was hanged in Central Jail Sahiwal early Tuesday morning.
The convict had murdered Abdul Hameed over a petty dispute in Chak 72/D Malka Hans, district Pakpattan on April 1, 2003.
The Malka Hans Police had registered a case and arrested the accused. He was sentenced to death by the Pakpattan Additional District and Sessions court on November 1, 2003.
The Lahore High Court upheld the death sentence on June 22, 2006 while the Supreme Court rejected his appeal on April 15, 2010.
In Gujrat District Jail, three death row prisoners, belonging to Mandi Bahauddin were executed in the wee hours of Tuesday. The convicts including Ghazanfar, Nisar and Muhammad Anwar had murdered two real brothers over a domestic dispute.
In Kasur, a condemned prisoner Mohammad Akram was hanged at District Prison Kasur on Tuesday. He had murdered one Asif in Daroghwala, Lahore in 1998.
