Sana asks victors to help better party image

FAISALABAD

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has claimed that out of 157 local bodies seats in Faisalabad city, 111 seats were won by his party, asking the winners to work for improving the party image.
Out of these winners, 71 candidates were emerged victorious under the election symbol of lion while the remaining 40 winners are also Muslim leaguers, he said addressing the elected councillors of the PML-N at his Dera at Samanabad. He urged the Muslim League factions to forget their petty differences and make collective struggle for better the image of their party. He congratulated the elected persons exhorted them to devotedly work for serving the people of their constituencies.
He said that although the candidates of the PML-N had conducted hectic electioneering campaign, the strategy adopted by the local leadership of the party also played a vital role in their success. He strongly criticised the PTI leadership for its “un-democratic” attitude, and said that despite utilisation of all the sources and making false propaganda against the PML-N leaders, they (PTI) could hardly attain the fourth position in the local bodies polls. He paid tributes to police and administration for arranging strict security measures at all the polling stations which helped a lot for ensuring peace on the occasion. Announcing the PML-N policy about deciding the criteria for district chairmen and municipal corporations mayors in Punjab, the law minister said that a board would be constituted to interview the aspiring candidates for the two slots. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif will interview the aspiring candidates for these slots, and submit a report to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who as the party president will announce his final decision in the light of the board’s report, he said.
