LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif greeted The Nation Editor-in-Chief Majid Nizami on receiving an honorary degree of doctorate from the University of Punjab in recognition of his lifelong services in the field of journalism.
In his message from London, the chief minister said it is a tremendous tribute to Majid Nizami. It is a unique honour for a journalist in the history of the subcontinent, he added. 
Shahbaz said Majid Nizami is the custodian of responsible and honest journalism in the country. He said the Punjab government had acknowledged his journalistic services by renaming Lawrence Road as Majid Nizami Road.  The chief minister expressed his best wishes for him and prayed for his long life.
