PESHAWAR - Jamaat Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter Women Wing has announced to mark "Hijab Day" today (Thursday) by holding a week long special programmes and functions. This was stated by JI MPA Rashida Riffat while addressing a news conference here at press club on Wednesday. Flanked by former MPA Raziya Aziz, she said the Hijab Day is being observed across the world in September with the aim to highlight significance of wearing veil for women. Keeping in view importance of the day, she said the JI Women Wing would hold functions and seminars and programmes at union council, tehsil and district level. She said it was our obligation to protect religious norms and value, therefore we are going to mark the Hijab Day today (Thursday) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
