QUETTA- A spokesman for Frontier Corps Balochistan has said kidnapped Iranian border guards were not present on Pakistani soil.

He said that they were released inside Iran after mediation by Shah Bakhsh tribe elder Taj Muhammad. He said Iranian security forces had resorted to unprovoked firing injuring a number of innocent Pakistani citizens. Pakistan had already denied presence of abducted Iranian guards in Balochistan province.
