MUZAFFARGARH - In a bid to provide justice to the people at their doorsteps and ensure immediate solution to their problems, the Dera Ghazi Khan regional police officer held an open court at the DPO Office here on Saturday.
RPO Muhammad Nawaz listened to the problems of the complainants and issued directions to immediately address their grievances. He said the purpose of holding the court was to develop trust between the police and public. A culture of friendly policing could be ensured as a prime objective of the Muzaffargarh police, he added.
The RPO briefed the participants about the success of police against terrorists and also informed them about the steps taken by the force to make this city peaceful. He said that Islamabad police had arrested more than 20 terrorists during the current year. Nawaz said nefarious designs of mischievous elements had been foiled. He asked the participants to appreciate the force besides criticism as its personnel were ensuring security of citizens by putting their lives at risk in tough conditions.
"There are several constraints before the police like shortage of strength and tough duty hours. Despite all these tough conditions, we are serving the people and also reforming our attitude through self-accountability and guidance of people," he maintained. He said that no policeman involved in dereliction of duties would be spared and will be sent behind bars in case of any highhandedness.
The RPO also suspended SI Ashiq Hussain over compliant of citizen for demanding bribe and being involved in criminal activities in the area. He appointed a DSP as Inquiry Officer and directed to submit a report at the earliest in this regard.
District Police Officer Malik Zesheen Asghar, DSP City Malik Bashir Awan. DSP Jatoi Malik Khalid Daha, DSP Rana Muhammad Razaq, DSP investigation, MPA Ahsanul Haq, Press Club President Dr Khalid Mehmood Zaffar Chaudhry and DSP Traffic Asdullah. were also present.
Meanwhile, DPO Zesheen Asghar said that the Muzaffargarh police had decided to launch a special campaign against the suspects and was starting door-to-door checking in the area. For this purpose, he appealed to the people of the area to cooperate with the police. He said that massive checking would be conducted in the various areas of the city before Eidul Fitr in order to ensure peace in the city.
He said that Frontier Constabulary would also assist the police in performing duties and every possible effort would be made for peaceful atmosphere. Zeeshan Asghar stressed for checking activities of the people in their surroundings especially of the tenants.
