Saif claims PPP to get major win in polls


PESHAWAR – After developing adversaries with party leadership, the disgruntled provincial leader of PTI Iftikhar Jhagara has announced to join Pakistan People’s Party saying good-bye to Pakstan Tehrik-e-Insaf.
He made this announcement at a press conference here at his residence here on Tuesday. Federal Minister for Haj and Religious Affairs, Syed Khurshid Shah, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Federal Minister for Communication, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, MNA Asma Alamgir, PPP provincial President Saifullah Khan, and other provincial leaders were also present on the occasion.
Addressing on the occasion, Federal Minister, Syed Khurshid Shah, welcomed Iftikhar Jhagara joining PPP, saying that his party is the real representative of people and extending services to masses at their doorstep. He expressed the hope that PPP will be further strengthened under the supervision of its provincial president Anwar Saifullah Khan.
In his remarks, Saifullah Khan said the PPP will overwhelming succeed in the next general elections and the people would be re-elected them on the basis of performance.
Iftikhar Jhagara said that he will serve all his energy for strengthening PPP and regain the lost position in the party. “I always served the people and would continue struggle for their welfare and betterment in the province”, he maintained.
“I had never demanded for high profile and key position from PPP in the past and will not expect in the future”, he remarked. He said that he has great respect for PPP central leader and MNA Faryal Talpur, and expressed the hope PPP will win the upcoming general elections.
In another cemony, PML-Q MPA and deputy parliamentary leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Nighat Yasmin Orakzai, quit her party and formally announced her joining the ruling PPP on Tuesday.
Speaking at a news conference, the PML-Q lone female lawmaker in KPK Assembly Nighat Orakzaii said that she has joined PPP without any condition and would work as its worker. She said that she had no complaints with the central leadership of Q-League, but the provincial leaders had been constantly creating hurdles in her way, that forced her to quit.
Nighat, who has also worked as the Provincial Secretary Information of Q-League, said that the mainstream political parties had contacted her after her resignation from PML-Q, but she decided to join the PPP keeping in view meritorious sacrifices of the Bhutto family for democracy and rights of people and its progressive and people welfare agenda.
Welcoming Nighat to the party, PPP KPK President Anwar Saifullah Khan said that his party’s political graph and popularity has increased manifold in KPK and people from cross sections of the society are joining it on a regular basis. He said joining of Nighat Orakzai will further strengthen the party in the province.
Anwar said that PPP will form governments in the Centre as well as all four provinces after sweeping the general elections. Besides others, Deputy Speaker in National Assembly, Faisal Kairm Kundi, Excise and Taxation Minister, Liaquat Shabab, and office bearers of KP PPP and provincial ministers of PPP were also present on this occasion.
