LAHORE - To make mockery of government’s alleged failure to implement the National Action Plan, a mock fateha khawani was held at Bilawal House Lahore yesterday symbolising the demise of NAP.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari led the prayer before making his speech on 5th day of party’s foundation day celebrations. All present on the occasion raised their hands to offer the symbolic fateha.
The PPP leader reiterated his ‘Go Nisar Go ‘mantra on the fifth consecutive day holding the interior minister responsible for government’s alleged inaction against the terrorists. Raising slogan of ‘Go Nisar Go’, he warned that the same would turn to ‘Go Nawaz Go’ if his four-point charter of demands is not accepted by December 27 deadline.
He also chanted the slogan of ‘Go Nawaz Go ‘and said the same was now being raised within the four walls of Bilawal House but after the deadline passed it would become a countrywide movement.
Bilawal said Pakistan was burning and Punjab will have to rise up to save the country. He addressed Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif as ‘Showbaz Sharif’, the one who looked busy but did nothing significant.
He said he had brought change in Sindh and also made a new PPP. “Have you not seen a change in Sindh and a new PPP,” he asked the crowd, adding that if people voted him into power he would be the next prime minister. “If I can bring change in Sindh and make a new party, why can’t I bring change in the entire country”, he said.
The other day, the PPP chairman announced to contest election from his ancestral seat to become part of the present Parliament.
The day was dedicated to Sindh and its culture. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wore Sindhi cap and Ajrak along with his sisters, Bakhtawar and Aseefa who also dressed up in traditional clothes. Sindhi artists performed on the traditional music and songs.
Marriyum asks Bilawal to
consult Nawaz for guidance
Staff Reporter from Karachi adds: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said Bilawal Bhutto is a new entry in political arena, suggesting the PPP chairman to consult Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for guidance.
“If Bilawal Bhutto would have implemented the four points that he is demanding from the prime minister then the situation in the Sindh province could have been better,” the minister said while addressing ‘Meet the Press’ at Karachi Press Club here yesterday.
Marriyum informed the media that the federal government understands the security issues faced by the journalist community and a draft of a bill aimed at eliminating lacunas in providing security to the journalists would soon be sent to press clubs across the country for suggestions. “After suggestions from the press clubs, the bill would later be sent to the parliament for approval ad this is the step that any government had taken for the first time,” she added.
She highlighted that the people of Pakistan are themselves witnessing the PM’s success in overcoming monsters like power outages, slow economic growth, poor infrastructure and terrorism in the country.
The minister held it was an initiative of the prime minister that brought peace and stability in Karachi. “Soon the remaining part of this action against criminal and terror elements would be completed,” she assured the people of port city.
Marriyum urged no politics should be played on the security and integrity of the country, saying that the provinces had an equal role in implementing National Action Plan as of the federal government.
In a direct reference to his party leader, Nawaz Sharif, the minister said that the prime minister of Pakistan in 2018 would be the one, who has served the people and has given relief to the people from electricity loadshedding, and delivered the people with motorways, CPEC and several energy projects.
Responding to the ban on few channels’ broadcast, the minister said that Pemra was an independent body. Likewise the Supreme Court, the electronic media regulatory authority can ban transmission of any channel, she further stated.
