Rawalpindi - The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Wednesday organised a photographic exhibition to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir in connection with Kashmir Day falling today (Thursday).
PML-N MPA Lubna Rehan Pirzada flanked by Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition. The photographs displayed at the exhibition presented the firsthand account of brutalities suffered by the people of the Occupied Kashmir at the hands of the Indian forces for demanding their legitimate right to the self-determination.
Addressing the inaugural session, MPA Lubna Rehan Pirzada said that Kashmiris were chronicling glorious chapter in the history of world through their sacrifices for right to self-determination. She said that there was a need to raise collective voice at the international forums against human rights violations in Kashmir. She added that the resolution of Kashmir dispute was necessary for the establishment of peace in the world and UN needed to implement its pending resolutions.
Naheed Manzoor said that the Kashmiris should be given their basic right to self-determination.
Waqar Ahmed said that over 250 photographs were displayed to depict the atrocities inflicted on the innocent Kashmiri people in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) by Indian occupied forces. The exhibition will remain open for general public for three days.
A large number of the people belonging to all walks of life, including students, teachers, human rights activists and artists, were also present on the occasion.
