QUETTA - An 18-inch diameter gas pipeline was blown up in Pat Feeder area of Jaffarabad on Wednesday, suspending gas supply to CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan for 36 hours.
According to a spokesman for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), unidentified gunmen fitted explosives beneath an 18-inch diameter gas pipeline in Pat Feeder near Uch. The explosives went off with a big bang, destroying a large portion of the pipeline, he added.
The spokesman said the pipeline was injecting about 114-MMCFD gas to the SSGC system. Following the blast, the SSGC has announced 36-hour closure of gas supply to all CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan. The repair work of the damaged pipeline would be started after security clearance.
