Levies will be made regular, says minister

QUETTA - Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Shaukatullah Khan has said that Federal government had decided to make Federal Levies regular and its personnel would be given benefits equivalent to personnel of Frontier Corps. He stated this during meeting of Senates Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions which held under Chairmanship of Committees Chairman Senator Hafiz Rasheed Ahmed here on Monday. Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bezinjo, Senator Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, Senator Humayun Khan Mandokhel, Senator Muhammad Saleh Shah, provincial Home Secretary Zafarullah Baloch and other concerned official attended the meeting. The meeting thoroughly reviewed privileges of rulers of former states of Balochistan and responsibilities of Levies Force in former states of Balochistan. On the occasion, Federal Minister Shaukatullah Khan informed that Federal govt had approved funds for making Levies Force regular. The committee hailed the step and stressed that Levies Force should be given all privileges so that its personnel could perform their duties with devotion. He said that Federal government under Balochistan Package is taking steps for the prosperity and development of Balochistan and under 18th Amendment provinces were getting more powers.
