LAKKI MARWAT - In a special drive against non-registered bikes the district police along with traffic sergeants have impounded 270 motorcycles in Lakki, Naurang and other parts of the district.
“The campaign has been launched on the directives of DPO Umar Riaz to compel owners to get their motorbikes registered with excise and taxation department”, said an official on Wednesday.
He said that the police had been strictly directed not to spare the owners of non-registered bikes and vehicles.
“The owners of impounded motorcycles can get their bikes on producing registration documents”, he maintained. Meanwhile, the DPO has directed the traffic police cops to ensure implementation of traffic laws and take action against the violators.

The officials concerned of Peshawar Electric Supply Company have made functional the newly installed Lakki city-II power feeder in 132KV Tajazai grid station to improve power supply system in the urban locality. This was stated by former federal secretary Akhtar Munir Khan Marwat in a telephonic chat with this scribe.
Munir said that work on installation of feeder and laying out a transmission from Tajazai to Lakki city had been completed for the last couple of months.
“To energise the new feeder without any delay was a genuine and fair demand of area people”, he told, claiming that on his request officials concerned of Pesco sped up the process and got the newly installed feeder energized.
