Resistance from militants provoked air support, five hideouts eliminated: Pakistan Army

RAWALPINDI- Pakistan army says that security forces sought air support after facing resistance from militants during the ongoing major ground offensive in North Waziristan.


According to an army spokesman, “On facing fire and resistance from inside the Miranshah town and Boya village, air strikes were launched to flush out terrorists, destroying five terrorist hideouts, caves and a huge cache of arms and ammunition.”


He added that scores of terrorists were also killed in early morning strikes. Most of the terrorists killed in strikes were Uzbeks.


The spokesman continued by mentioning the death of a soldier from an IED explosion during a clearance operation.
