Minister warns profiteers of stern action

Increase in prices of daily-use products should not be made not only in Ramazan bazaars but also in the markets, said a Punjab minister during his visit to a Ramazan bazaar here on Saturday.
Raids and checking will continue even after the month of Ramazan to ensure provision of products on fixed prices and no one will be allowed to loot the people, Food Minister Bilal Yaseen said talking to the media during his visit to Model Bazaar.
The provincial minister visited and monitored grain market and internal city market. He also visited Ramazan Bazaar established in Mailaywali Gali Bahawalpur and inquired the prices of the products. He thoroughly monitored the prices of products being sold in Ramazan bazaars and markets. He said that no compromise be made on the quality of daily household products for which the government has provided subsidy of Rs3.5 billion throughout the Punjab.
He said that it was the vision of CM Punjab to establish such a system on permanent basis which can control the prices and provide relief to the people. He directed to displaying of price lists at the prominent places so that customers do not have to face problems.
He said that it is the duty of the media to uncover such elements as are hoarding and overcharging. He appreciated the arrangements made in the bazaars of Bahawalpur.
Additional Chief Secretary Mubasshar Raza also visited the Ramazan Bazaar Khanqa Sharif along with Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar. He monitored different stalls established in bazaar and asked from the customers about the prices and quality of the products.
