ISLAMABAD- Leader of Opposition Khursheed Shah said that it was dangerous to include a serving army official in the peace negotiations.

Talking to journalists outside the National Assembly he said that an army official could be included in such a committee only incase of a ceasefire.

He stated that the inclusion of an army official in the peace talks would have serious consequences if the negotiations failed.

The Opposition leader said if it is that important, then a retired army official can be included in the committee.

Shah said that the terrorists were murderers of 60,000 Pakistanis and it would be an irony to see army sitting with them.

Shah further added that he had no objections to whether the Government held the peace talks themselves or via an intermediary committee.
