‘Government committed to promoting education’




PESHAWAR - KPK, Minister for Excise & Taxation, Liaqat Shabab has said that allocation of four per cent of the annual GDP for education sector in the next budget would be a unique step of the provincial govt which would play an important role in promotion of education.
He was addressing as a chief guest at the foundation laying stone ceremony of the upgradation of Government High School for Boys Nowshera Kalan to the level of higher secondary school at Nowshera on Friday. It is pertinent to mention here that higher secondary school has been attributed after the name of former MPA late Syed Inayat Ali Shah Gillani to pay homage to his services. The school would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 18 million under the supervision of Communication & Works Department KPK. The ceremony was largely attended by district office bearers of PPP, officers of Communication & Works Department, Education Department, parents, elite of the area and teachers and the students. The Minister said that parents and teachers should pay attention towards the character building of the students alongwith their education so that they could live a successful practical life. He announced Rs 2,50,000 each for the science and computer labs and for the purchase of furniture etc.
