Govt’s anti-labourer policies flayed

KAMALIA-The labourers have to struggle on their own in order to change their socio-economic condition because the rulers have nothing to do with their rights, speakers of a seminar said.

A former education minister said while addressing the seminar organised to highlight labour rights at Tehsil Municipal Hall here the other day. On the occasion, he said that the politicians make tall promises during election campaigns but when they come to power, they promptly forget about the poor.

Awami Workers Party General Secretary Mian Farooq Tariq said that the politicians care only for taking turns and do not take practical steps for uprooting poverty. They assure the labourers for better benefits and wages but no practical steps seem to be taken in this regard. He urged the labourers to struggle on their own to change their socio-economic condition and pointed out that no struggle is successful without good intentions and sacrifice.
