MULTAN - The engineers working in the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) are likely to express strong reaction over the appointment of non-engineer CSP officers as the heads of power distribution companies as a the Pakistan Power Engineers Association (PPEA) has launched a countrywide contact drive to unite all engineers on one platform against the decision. An sms circulates among the Wapda engineers, lodging strong protest over government’s decision to appoint CSP heads of distribution companies. The Association has also sought suggestions from the engineers on the issue for chalking out a joint line of action. It may not be out of place to mention here that the government is likely to appoint six CSSP officers as heads of as many distribution companies in first leg of the project. Government sources claimed that the federal government had relieved six joint secretary level officers for this purpose and the motive behind launching this move is to improve power distribution system, cut down losses.
