Islamabad- After the position of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), the office of Secretary of Election Commission Pakistan is lying vacant as not a single name has been suggested as yet.

It should be noted that Ishtiak Ahmed Khan has completed his tenure as Secretary ECP.

Former Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim resigned from the post after allegations of rigging during last elections.

The tenures of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Chief Election Commissioner are also about to end and the Supreme Court of Pakistan has already ordered the federal government to appoint a new CEC.
