An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted different areas of Khyber Paktunkhwa (KPK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) early on Saturday.
According to Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on the Richter scale was felt in Chitral, Dir, Swat and Ghizer at 5:27AM.
The tremours created panic among the dwellers of the areas where it was felt but no causalities or property damages were reported.
PMD said that the epicenter of the earthquake was on Afghanistan-Tajikistan border at a focal depth of 80 kilometres.
