ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Police during the current year arrested 192 street criminals in its special campaign to curb street crime as well as dacoity incidents. Police have also recovered looted items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, 162 mobile phones and 23 cars. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan had directed all police officials to devise effective plans in their respective areas to curb street crimes and dacoity incidents. He also directed all SPs/SDPOs and patrolling officers for effective policing as well as vigilance in their areas. As per directives and special plan devised for various circles, record of those persons ever remained involved in street crime was also obtained by the police officials and their monitoring was ensured. City Circle Police during the current year arrested 34 street criminals, Saddar Circle police arrested 93 persons, and Industrial Circle police arrested 38 while Rural Zone nabbed 27 street criminals during the ongoing year. A total 162 of stolen or snatched mobile phones and 23 stolen vehicles were also recovered from them. IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan appreciated the performance of police. He also directed police officials to curb crimes in 2011 through effective patrolling and high vigilance.
