ISLAMABAD - Five thousand CCTC cameras would be installed at the sensitive polling stations across Pakistan while three monitoring teams would perform duties in every district to check the electoral violations, Election Commission said Friday.
The presiding officers would have magistracy powers and they could send to jail the violators of the ECP code of conduct during the general polls, said Additional Secretary ECP Afzal Qazzafi Khan while talking to media men here on Friday.
Afzal Qazzafi said that any highhanded method and violation of laws during the general polls would be dealt with firm hand. Special arrangements would be made for elderly persons, women, children and minorities during the general elections, he said.
