LAHORE–In absence of the Opposition, the Treasury in Punjab Assembly today passed a resolution to term Panama leaks against Children of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as totally baseless, conspiratorial and satanic material and condemned the elements who want to create political instability in the country on their basis.

The resolution presented by Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan received the treasury vote to also appreciate the Prime Minister’s decision to set up a judicial commission to be headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to probe the leaks charges against his children Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz.

Prior to the resolution, the Opposition staged a walk-out demanding the Prime Minister to step down after his family members have been named in the leaks as running off-shore companies to siphon off undeclared money to foreign banks allegedly to evade tax. The treasury and the Opposition locked horns in sloganeering against the leadership of each other to consume about 20 minutes of the House proceedings.
