Burglars take away 3.5kg gold, silver

Unidentified burglars broke into a jewellery shop owned by Hafiz Khaleeq situated in Miana Gondal Main Bazaar and took away Rs1.5 kg of gold, two kg of silver besides Rs82,000 in cash. Following the incident, the traders across the town observed a shutdown and held a protest demonstration against the dacoity in front of Miana Gondal Police Station. The traders demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and recovery of the booty. The police registered a case and started further investigation.
Meanwhile, DPO Taimour claimed that the Sadder Police had arrested a proclaimed offender identified Irfan alias Fani. The DPO told the media persons that the accused was wanted in various murder, robbery and theft cases and the government had announced head money for the arrest of the accused. He said that in a drive to arrest the POs the police raided a dera of village Chak Besawa on a tip-off and arrested the accused. The police recovered a Kalashnikov and live cartridges from his possession.
The DPO said that police teams were operating across the district to arrest the POs and so far 90 POs had been arrested involved in different heinous crimes.
