KARACHI- At least two Taliban militants were killed in an overnight shootout with paramilitary troops in Karachi.
A Rangers official informed that based on a credible lead, the Rangers personnel swooped in on a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideout in Metroville Town but faced heavy resistance.
“Three militants started shooting at the security men from inside their den drawing a retaliatory fire,” claimed the sources.
At the end of the hour-long earsplitting shootout, two terrorists were killed whilst the third escaped.
According to a Rangers spokesman, magnetic Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), hand grenades, short and long range firearms and other explosives were seized after the raid.
“These terrorists were involved in targeted killing in the SITE area of Karachi,” he informed.
