Bannu- Over five hundred seventy two thousand Internally Displaced People (IDP) belonging to forty four thousand six hundred and thirty three families have so far been registered. According to a report presented to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif today, a sum of 329.6 million rupees and 4,500 tons of relief goods have so far been distributed among displaced families by the Federal Government with the assistance of Pakistan Army and the World Food Program. About 5,000 food packages, weighing 110 kilogram each are being distributed every day through 11 food distribution points among the affected people. As per Prime Minister's directions, from 8th of this month, each registered IDP family will get cash assistance through Mobile SIMs under a transparent mechanism. These families will collect their money from mobile franchises, retailers and banks. Round the clock provision of electricity in IDP camps has been ensured. Temporary mosques have been built to facilitate the families living in camps. Medical facilities have also been ensured for the IDPs as well as their animals. Federal Finance Ministry has released 1.5 billion rupees so far for the IDPs. The UAE Government has provided humanitarian assistance worth 20.5 million dollars and the United States 31 million dollars for the IDPs.
