KARACHI - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif used Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to issue statement against the Pakistan Army, while Nawaz’s retreat forced Zardari to leave the country.
PTI leader expressed theses views while talking to the media at Karachi Airport here on Sunday.
Khan alleged that the former caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Najam Sethi was rewarded following the general election 2013 while Sethi himself has accepted that, he took orders directly form Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif directly during his caretaker tenure.
He said that Sethi had played a key role in rigging during general elections and was awarded slot of Pakistan Cricket Board chairman twice while his niece was made an MPA on reserved seat in Punjab Assembly. Sethi was also given a tax write-off worth Rs15 millions, he added.
Imran futher said that people including Murtaza Poya and Dr Ijaz who informed me about the 35 punctures had not backed out from their claims. “We did not contest 35 punctures in the judicial commission because there were 70 not just 35 puncture,” said Imran adding that he had proved before the judicial commission that the general election 2013 were engineered through Returning Officers (ROs). He said that it is first time in the history of country that investigation were being carried out over rigging while PTI would accept commission`s verdict to strengthen democracy.
To a question about the Pakistan People Party (PPP) led Sindh government, Khan said that all earlier records of corruption had been broken and it has developed an uncertain situation in province. The aid that is being raised in the city on gun point is not called fund raising but collection of extortion. PTI demanded end of extortion and strict action against the corrupt people, he added.
Taking about MQM`s Indian funding, PTI chairman said that RAW former chief did not clarified that MQM is not taking money from Indian spy agency and RAW former chief statement is an equivocate statement.
MQM moved to courts against me but why did it not moved to courts against British Board Corporation (BBC) questioned Imran.
He said that PPP Co-Chairman Zardari delivered an anti-army speech in the backdrop of charter of democracy but after backtrack form Nawaz Sharif, he fled. He said that the party is 100 per cent sure that it would built a new Pakistan.
Imran informed purpose of his Karachi visit is to materialise work on Shaukat Khanam Memorial Hospital in the city. Land has been allotted for construction of hospitals while construction work would be started soon.
PPP respond to Imran Khan Statement
Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Sharjeel Inam Memon on Sunday said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has panicked after his failure in sit-ins. He said that Khan was dreaming to become the prime minister of the country through sit-ins and overthrow a democratic government.
“Imran Khan is U-turn Khan and he should not think that Zardari will not return,” he said adding that after failure in his sit-ins, Khan was leveling baseless allegations against political leadership of the country. He said that before leveling allegations against rival politicians, Imran Khan should look at himself. “Imran Khan’s past and current political scenario is doubtful and people have not forgotten his statements against the institution of the country,” he said.
He said that Khan’s claims for turning Peshawar into Paris is in front of the people and it was due to his lies that he had to adopt a policy of U-turn in the politics.
MQM respond to Imran Khan Statement
The MQM coordination committee has said that matter of party moving to courts regarding BBC report is party internal issue and Imran should not worry about this. They said that Imran during his whole life adopted politics of accusing opponents while residents of the Urban Sindh will not tolerates Imran`s stance anymore. MQM CC further said that he never made efforts to resolve issues of Karachiites but kept the city for raising funds and only came Karachi seeking votes at the time of election.
