West want to change regional map: Fazl

PESHAWAR – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has said that international forces are interested in the politics of their region, as they wanted to change its map create a disruptive situation.
“These forces, seeking change in the map of the region, though succeeded in creating chaotic situation to set up the spiral of change, however they are faced with setbacks in pursuance of their designs in this regard,” the JUI-F chief said during a media talk in Peshawar after the conclusion of party meeting at its provincial secretariat on Monday.
Flanked by provincial head of the party Maulana Amanullah, provincial Secretary Information Jalil Jan and other stalwarts of JUI-F, Fazl tied economic amelioration and betterment to that of resolving issues of law and order in the country. Whatsoever untidiness was prevailing today in shape of terrorism and other malaises, it was imposed on the country both by international forces and rulers themselves, he blamed.
He maintained that the way out of the current imbroglio that was opted to address issues at hands was not corresponding to the Parliament resolution in this regard, rather was in opposing stands to the same, adding that the result could be seen terrorism and extremism still linger on with no abating in the region.
He said that the same was condition prevailing in Balochistan, saying incumbent rulers were telling that conditions in Fata were under the international agenda, while those in Balochistan were not so but the latter was internal matter. Which is why, today we have different approaches to both Fata and Balochistan issue, JUI-F chief said, adding that however the resolution on Balochistan in American Congress was refuting analysis of the incumbent government. There was a need to dispel sense of slavery instead of only airing words like removal of deprivation as masses have come to know the fact that what is freedom for them, Fazl-ur-Rehman added.
In reply to a question, JUI-F head said with the nearness of general elections in the country there would be drawing of new ranks correspondently. “Our first priority stand for re-inventing MMA and Jamaat-e-Islami should not be a stumping stone in this regard,” Fazl stressed. It was a part of the agenda of some global forces to reduce the role of religious institutions in the country, he continued saying to point finger everything at the expense of ‘Madressahs’ was not a justifiable step.
To another question, Maulana said they wanted that the assassins of late Benazir Bhutto should have been arrested. “But it looks queer that on one hand government wants to arrest Musharraf and on the other hand continued with the latter’s policies,” he added and linger on while hitting at the ANP led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said that, “those bearing arms are dubbed terrorists but those harping on drums and harmoniums are called Pakhtuns by the provincial government.”
