CJ PHC urged to take action against swindler


PESHAWAR - Residents of Hangu have demanded of the government and Ministry of Interior to arrest a swindler Kishwar Khan for allegedly cheating locals, and retrieve their passports and looted money.  
Addressing a news conference on Tuesday here at the Press Club, the swindled persons Hilal Khan and Falak Khan said that one Kishwar Khan, resident of Matra, Peshawar, who was introducing himself as a close companion of the Interior Minister Rahman Malik, and personnel of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) offered them visas of Canada. The alleged swindler, they said, had offered them Canadian visas pretending the Canadian government has made this offer for the militancy affected tribal people.
Hilal further said that the alleged cheater collected three to six lakh rupees each from around 40 persons while to some of them were given fake authority letters of the Canadian embassy.
“We were assured to assemble at a famous hotel in Islamabad for departure on February 14, but a day earlier the alleged cheater Kishwar disappeared and left his rented house,” said Falak.
Flanked by a large number of other affected persons, he lamented that they have approached the local police to complain but they didn’t give any attention and declare it a case of FIA, he maintained.
Later, when a written complaint was given to FIA, they asked to wait for their turn as they are already facing a burden of old cases, they said.
“Now the alleged swindler also threatening of dire consequences for complaining to FIA, he said.
He also appealed chief justice Peshawar High Court to take suo moto notice of the fraud, recover their money and passports, and award exemplary punishment to the cheater.
Meanwhile, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Tuesday condemned the Karachi bombing and said that the government had failed to restore peace.
Addressing a public meeting in Lower Dir district, he said that his party had a comprehensive programme to establish sustainable peace and serve the nation. QWP General Secretary Bakht Baidar Khan, Faqir Hussain and others also spoke on the occasion where, Taza Khan, former nazim of Khanpur Union Council and Nisar Khan, former naib nazim of Hasban Union Council, announced joining the QWP along with their supporters.
“We have a solid plan and will share it with the masses to restore peace in the region as the rulers have couldn’t address the issues of price-hike, unemployment and lawlessness,” he said.
Sikandar asked the government to ensure timely polls so that the country could be steered out of the prevailing crises.
