Akhtar Mengal cynical about rulers’ attitude

Quetta- While taking swipe at rulers, Baluchistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) chief Akhtar Mengal has said that the federal government was more concerned about wheeling and dealing, rather than solving Baluchistan issues.

Speaking at a press conference along with Baluchistan Assembly Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali today, he said that no one was paying attention to the situation in Baluchistan, which was deteriorating with each passing day.

Mengal said that the situation in Baluchistan could only improve, if control of provincial subjects and resources were devolved to the province. He said that the state of affairs has become more complicated in Naseerabad and Qalat, where people were facing severe problems, but government functionaries and ministers were avoiding visiting these areas.

The Baloch leader said that the newly elected senators including the one from his party would only serve Baluchistan in the Senate, by highlighting the crippling issues facing the people.

Meanwhile, Jamali said that he along with Nawab Magsi and Saeed Hashmi was planning to establish a new Muslim League in Baluchistan, to focus on issues being faced by the Baloch people. He said that the provincial assembly members cast their vote on principals to election senators from Baluchistan, which will help strength democracy.
