5 power pylons blown up in Peshawar

PESHAWAR - Five electricity pylons of 220 KV and 500 KV transmission lines were blown up in Sheikh Mohammadi area here on Monday.
According to Pesco spokesman Shaukat Afzal, three pylons of 500 KV Tarbela-Sheikh Muhammadi Peshawar and two pylons 220KV Sheikh Muhammadi-Daud Khel (Kohat) transmission lines were blown up by some unidentified people.
The power supply to Peshawar, Mardan and Kohat was affected but the Pesco managed to resume power supply through alternative means. However the alternative sources are not capable of such a heavy load; hence the low voltage problem in Mardan, Kohat and Peshawar was faced by consumers, due to the same reason. The officials concerned have started the repair work on the damaged towers.
