Election Tribunal orders re-election in NA-47

PESHAWAR  - An Election Tribunal on Monday ordered re-election in NA-47, Tribal Areas-12, after declaring null and void the election results of the constituency on Monday.
The NA-47 constituency consists of all six Frontier Regions (FRs). PTI MNA Qaisar Jamal Afridi won the seat in the general elections.
The tribunal ruled on a petition filed by an independent candidate Abid Rahman Afridi,stating that he had applied for tree electoral symbol, and his application had been accepted, but his tree symbol was missing in the ballot paper so he boycotted the elections.
Because it was necessary to has his allotted symbol in the paper, he said.
Thus, it was requested the election tribunal to null and void the election results NA-47, he added.
He sought the court to suspend results of NA-47 and re announce date for fresh election in the constituency over correct ballot paper.
The Election Tribunal declared the results of the constituency as null and void and ordered for re-elections.
