Islamabad- Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad says the government is making efforts to promote science and technology in the country.
Addressing an exhibition on water today, he hailed the role of Pakistan Science Foundation in this regard.
He hoped the exhibition will go a long way in finding solution to the scarcity of water both for drinking and irrigation purposes.
Speaking on the occasion, French Ambassador to Pakistan Philippe Thiebaud said his country is helping in construction of several hydro power projects.
He said France is also assisting Pakistan in improving sanitation system in major cities.
Vice Chancellor Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Dr.
Rai Niaz Ahmad said that glaciers are reducing in size due to climate change.
He stressed the need for construction of dams to tackle the problem of water shortage for irrigation.
