Former SSP at the mercy of a secretary

Islamabad: Former SSP (operations) Asmatullah Junejo, who has been facing suspension after he was made officer on special duty (OSD) for the last five months, has been deprived of his salary allegedly by a secretary at the Prime Minister’s House to settle a personal score.

The SSP, who was divested of his responsibilities after he allegedly failed to insert certain sections in an FIR that had been registered against ASWJ activists at the Shehzad Town Police Station, has been going to the Police Line on a daily basis, but neither he was allowed to perform his duty nor his salary was being released.

According to sources, the particular secretary at the Prime Minister House has blocked the salary of the police officer, who had not entertained a case of the secretary’s son for an arms license, while raising objection on the submitted documents.

When contacted, Junejo confirmed that his salary has been blocked without telling the reason for such a move. He regretted that honesty and integrity have almost lost meaning in the police department.
