PESHAWAR - Tribal Areas Chamber of Commerce and Industry and University of Peshawar, Fata Research Cell, have decided to work jointly for the uplift of the underprivileged area and work on the exploration, development and utilisation of mineral and natural resources in Fata.
This was decided in a meeting of twelve-member delegation led by Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Zubair Ali with Vice Chancellor, UoP, Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz held at University of Peshawar. Coordinator Fata research cell Prof Dr Ijaz Khan, Registrar Dr Syed Fazl-e-Hadi, Director Staff Training Institute Prof Dr Johar Ali, President PUTA Jamil Ahmed and Usman Ghani Senior Vice President Tribal Areas Chamber of Commerce were also present on the occasion.
VP, FPCCI, Zubair Ali offered to gave full time employment to selected fresh pass out students of Business Management and Commerce of UoP in their industries which will especially include those belonging from Fata. He also announced full time internships for talented students in the research and development unit of Tribal Chamber of Commerce.
It was decided in the meeting to organize joint national and international conferences seminars, symposia’s on issues confronting Tribal area under the auspices of Fata cell.
A presentation on the occasion by representative of tribal chamber revealed that per capita income of people in Fata is 663 dollars per annum as compared to 1256 dollars of other parts of the country while only one doctor is available for eight thousand populations. This situation is because of poor policies of the government in maintaining law and order and strengthening the manufacturing sector of Fata, it said.
Usman Ghani, Senior Vice President, Tribal Areas Chamber of Commerce asked for arranging special short courses for their industrialists and employees in the field of Management and Commerce.
The Vice Chancellor asked Director STI Prof. Dr Johar Ali to design special courses and offer/ arrange it for industrialists from tribal Chamber.
